Nicolette Glashan - Associate Consultant
Nicolette is a self-employed consultant with an impressive background in various business environments including retail, catering, training and education. Nicolette has always been passionate about diversity and for many years she managed the ‘Promoting Diversity in the Workplace’ project for Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce and was responsible for raising awareness of new equality legislation and best practice in many sectors including SMEs, Trade/sectoral business associates, Business support providers, Development agencies, Social Partner Organisations and the Princes Scottish Youth Business Trust.
In recent years Nicolette has delivered equality and diversity workshops in a variety of sectors including social care and tourism as well as in business development and enterprise organisations. She also has extensive project management experience and has achieved remarkable results on a number of European Funded projects, and national and local initiatives such as Shell STEP, LiveWIRE, Craigmillar District Business Association and the Women in Craigmillar project.
Nicolette first worked with Diversity Dynamics Ltd whilst at Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce when both organisations collaborated to win a contract with Scottish Enterprise. Together they designed and delivered a series of workshops for Business Advisers across Scotland as part of the Equality Matters in Business project.
In 2007 Di and Nicolette also worked together on a number of Scottish events to celebrate the European Year of Equal Opportunities. Nicolette was instrumental in coordinating the production of the highly acclaimed Diversity Dialogues™ festival show – a compilation of stories about Diversity and Difference in the modern world which was compiled and scripted by Di. Nicolette also co-ordinated the arrival in Glasgow of the 30 tonne ‘Against Discrimination; For Diversity’ truck which was travelling around Europe that year. This involved successfully directing a day of multi-cultural celebrations and awareness raising activities ranging from ‘Question-time’ panel discussions to ‘diversity pop idol’ with songs celebrating diversity.
Currently, Nicolette uses her excellent networking and project management skills to support business development in Diversity Dynamics Ltd and also works as a core team associate delivering many of our diversity training events.
Alongside Diversity, Nicolette’s other passion is designing and making unique bags and accessories which she markets under the brand name ‘ Hooliehumple’ .
