Di Airey – Director
Prior to setting up Diversity Dynamics Ltd in early 2004 Di spent 15 years in Human Resources roles within the holiday industry, financial services and motor industries. For the last 5 years of employment she specialised in diversity, development and change management, and held Diversity Manager Roles in the Prudential and Daimler Chrysler UK Ltd.

Di’s interest in valuing diversity first emerged whilst studying for a BA in Human Communication (Lancaster University 1988), where she became involved in working with deaf communities in the campaign to improve the education of deaf children and also studied gender differences in language acquisition. Since then Di has always been passionate about enabling others to achieve their potential and throughout her career she has focused on improving attitudes and behaviour in the workplace to ensure everyone has a chance to participate fully. She has a particular interest in ‘knitting’ diversity best practice into business as usual; and taking Diversity beyond the HR arena and into the broader field of corporate social responsibility. In working with clients Di takes a practical yet creative approach, and works collaboratively with local HR and management teams to ensure that the benefits of any training or policy deliverables are maximised over time. She takes a proactive approach helping clients to minimise potential conflict but where issues have already arisen Di is an experienced mediator and harassment investigator and uses those skills to ensure a speedy and equitable resolution.

Complementary to her diversity expertise, Di is also an experienced coach and development professional. Qualified as an NLP master practitioner since 2001, she combines these skills with co-active coaching methods following foundation training as a co-active coach in the States. She is also trained in Transactional Analysis and a number of psychometric tools including Myers Briggs, motivation styles questionnaires and SHL’s aptitude and personality questionnaires (OPQ).

As well as heading up Diversity Dynamics Ltd, Di takes every opportunity to collaborate with other specialists and diversity experts. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and is a retained consultant for their In-Company Solutions division. She occasionally works as an associate to other consultancies and also sits on a number of commitees and voluntary sector boards.

Di has a passion for learning and has a postgraduate diploma in Change Agent Skills and Strategies (University of Surrey) where she studied the latest thinking on personal, team and organisational development predominantly from a humanistic psychology perspective. Di’s research interest focuses on examining the opportunities to change beliefs and prejudices at an individual and organisational level.

When not working or studying Di still finds time to indulge her many other interests including travel, trekking, writing, house renovation, yoga and playing djembe (African drum).
